FAQs

How does the kill mechanism work?

Nabber uses a cervical dislocation impact bar that targets the cervical vertebrae to deliver an instant, humane outcome. It is the euthanasia method recommended by veterinary and animal welfare organisations and used as standard in research facilities.

How long does the battery last and how many times does it reset?

Battery life and reset cycles are linked — as activity increases, the unit activates more frequently and battery life decreases accordingly. Under normal operating conditions expect 3–6 months of battery life per set of batteries.

What bait or attractant should I use?

Any bait or attractant that works in your environment. There are many commercially available options, and simple kitchen staples like peanut butter work well. Rodents are naturally inquisitive — they will investigate something new regardless. Experiment and use what you know works for your clients and conditions.

Is it safe around non-target animals?

The units are sized specifically for their target species — mice for the Mini, rats for the Multi. For best results deploy in confined, sheltered, shaded areas where rodents are likely to be dominant and access by other species is limited.

What environments can it be deployed in?

Nabber operates across all temperature ranges. Keep units out of direct and prolonged moisture exposure — sheltered placement is recommended in all environments.

Does Nabber reduce exposure to rodent-borne pathogens?

Rodents are vectors for a range of serious pathogens transmitted through direct contact with carcasses, urine, and droppings, such as the hantavirus. Nabber euthanizes and stores the carcass internally, minimizing handler exposure and keeping contaminated remains contained until serviced. Standard PPE protocols still apply when emptying the unit.

Is it approved for commercial use in the US and Canada?

Yes. Nabber is cleared for commercial use in both the US and Canada.

What's the difference between the Mini and the Multi?

The Mini targets mice — smaller, lighter, and designed to fit into tight spaces like suspended ceilings, wall voids, and confined service areas. The Multi is sized for rats but also effective on mice — larger, slightly heavier, and suited to open floor placements, perimeter runs, and agricultural environments.

What do I need to do after the unit activates?

Nothing immediately. Nabber euthanizes and stores the carcass internally. Check periodically to refresh bait, confirm battery status via the LED indicator, and empty the carcass drawer as needed.

Is Nabber suitable for use in certified organic operations?

Nabber is a mechanical device — it contains no chemicals, rodenticides, or synthetic inputs. It is compatible with organic certification standards including NOP (US) and COR (Canada). We recommend confirming with your certifier, but no organic protocol prohibits mechanical trapping.

Can Nabber be used in food processing or storage facilities?

Yes. Nabber uses no rodenticides or chemicals, eliminating secondary contamination risk. It is well suited to HACCP environments where chemical pest control creates compliance complexity.

Do technicians need special licensing to deploy Nabber?

No. Nabber requires no pesticide licensing or chemical handling certification. Standard deployment procedures apply.

Is there a warranty?

All Nabber products carry a one year warranty.
